Pictures of Liam!

Here is Liam at his orphanage. The lady holding the twins is Diana. She adopted her daughter (on left) several years ago and they went back for a visit a few weeks ago. Diana was so kind to take this (and the other orphanage pictures here) for me. She said Liam was so sweet and he fell asleep in his swing after the picture was taken! We are so grateful for these pictures as they are all we have since the referral! He looks so handsome and we are just crazy in love with him already!!!

We have been busy getting ready to leave. Passports: check. Visas: check. Paperwork: check. Cash: check. Warm weather clothes: check. Baby gear: getting there! Mac and Andrew have been a huge help picking out what Liam "needs". I tell you, with Mackenzie as his stylist, Liam will be one sharply dressed kid at all times! Just ten days until we leave~let the quick countdown begin!

It all comes together...

After weeks of toying with the idea of putting a blog together, Mackenzie helped me start this yesterday... and an hour later, we got the phone call from our agency letting us know China has approved our travel and we are set to go pick up Liam!! We are so excited and a little overwhelmed with all we need to do in such a short amount of time! It will all come together, I know, and I hope this blog helps our family and friends to follow us to China and share in the happy homecoming!

Currently, Liam is in an orphanage in the Shantou SWI (orphanage) in the Guangdong province of China. His Chinese name is Shan Le Yang. Shan, his "surname" for the city in which he was found, Le means happiness and Yang means fly high. Quite appropriate as his daddy is a pilot, don't you think? His "aunties" or caretakers at the orphanage call him "Yang Yang", which just makes him smile. His orphanage report states that he was named for his happiness and they hope he will grow up happy and have a happy life in the future. We intend to follow that through! We are all so happy to have Liam in our family and I can't believe that we'll be meeting him in less than three weeks!

The latest reports we have on Liam are from age fourteen months. He will be a complete year older than that when we get him, so we are excited to see how much he's grown. The orphanage has written a report about Liam (I'll attach this later) and it repeatedly says he gazes with black, sparkling eyes. His eyes do sparkle and we are all so excited to see how they'll sparkle in his new and forever home.
