He Is Finally Ours!

As of 9:30 this morning, Liam James Thompson, the former Shan, Le Yang, is truly ours! Went to the Civil Affairs office again this morning and met him right away. He was just as perfect as we imagined and even more precious than words can describe! He has deep, dark, large eyes that just seem to sparkle and dance. He loves to point and smiles so sweetly! He has a quiet disposition and is so happy being held and next to one of us. I cannot believe we are finally together!

Liam went to us right away, even though he was a bit shy. He LOVED Andrew and they began kicking the soccer ball to each other immediately. We also had a little "See and Say" in his backpack which he quickly discerned and would not let go. We got to play for about two hours, in between signing paperwork, paying fees, and taking pictures. Little Abby, his friend from the orphanage that we met yesterday, was with us to finish her paperwork today so they got to play together again. It was nice to see them together but they both were more interested in being with their new families. He never let Andrew out of his sight and was such a trooper letting us cover him in kisses and hugs from the get go...It is such a wonderful feeling knowing he is truly, truly ours.

After each of the other three, Wade and I looked at each other and thought how in the world could we have been so incredibly blessed? The miracle of their being and that God had chosen us for them was so humbling and awesome~and that feeling is truly present today. I look at Liam and he comes to us with the same dark, trusting eyes, the melding hold, and the trust that we will love and provide for him forever. Again we are humbled and awestruck at this little love who has filled our hearts from long before we met him. God is so incredibly good and we are so very blessed.

The three boys are playing on the bed, laughing and bouncing around. There was a "dancing crickets" cartoon on while Wade channel surfed and Liam began just laughing! Guess that is one of his favorites? He is so cute about holding every single thing he has been given. He holds his shoes, his bathtoys and his books. My friend, Dee, gave him a beautiful stuffed doggy, which seems to be his favorite. He took a nap with him and has not let go of "doggy" since (I am glad to write he did let go of his shoes and we're heading out soon to buy him new ones.) Liam will be in for a treat when he meets his REAL doggy back home!

We took Liam for a walk and picked up a stroller. The laundromat lent us one when we went to pick up our laundry. It was quite a show as Liam had never been in one so it was a treat to watch him get excited about getting in and out of the stroller. He loves to walk holding Andrew's hand and is happy being held, too. We took him to a Chinese restaurant(or I guess, just "restaurant" here) for lunch. We imagined this was his first time in a restaurant and he was just so precious and well behaved. He held onto his bath toy and two toothpicks (fortunately, his shoes were on his feet or he would have held them, too) and his spoon. He ate a ton of fried rice, some tofu, and some beef. I began feeding him but I guess I was slow as he just took his spoon and began feeding himself quite competently. I have a lot to learn! He didn't like the tea but quite liked the formula we bought. I imagine the next few weeks will be a lot of fun finding out what he likes and what is new. He can say something like "hi" and "bye" and waves to everyone which just brings smiles to strangers and joyful pounding in our hearts.

I'm sure the next few days will be filled with plenty of antics as his personality comes out. I'll close now and add some pictures. Thank you for the kind emails and most especially the prayers. And now introducing....Master Liam! MCT
