Let The Laughter Begin!

What a wonderful day! Liam slept so well and woke up so happy~as if he has done that with our family all 765 days of his life! He is such a joyful little guy! Our day started with the giggles of "peek a boo" with Andrew and Liam. Can you imagine anything happier?

Liam must be Gaelic for "eating machine". He is a thin little guy but manages to put away full meals! He is a dainty eater (well, by Thompson standards, anyway!) and it is just so fun to watch him eat things that we assume he's never eaten. So far everything but the bacon is a hit! He is so cute when he shakes his head and hands back whatever he doesn't really like. It makes me smile just thinking about it.

We were able to visit the hotel doctor yesterday who confirmed that both his ears were infected. We would have never known by his behavior that they were so bad. Poor guy probably didn't know any differently! We were able to get some meds for him and hopefully his ears are responding as I write.

We went to the police station to verify the documents from the day before and apply for his passport. We now have all our official documents from the Chinese government saying he is officially ours! Our last "official" appointment is with the American consulate on the 25th of September.

More giggles yesterday as we shopped for new shoes for him. We got him the "squeaky shoes" that they sell here. They are cute little leather sandals with a squeaker in the heel. It will drive Biscuit nuts when we go home but it sure makes everyone smile as he walks down the hall. They fit better than the ones he came to us with and I was happy he didn't feel the need to sleep with them in his arms last night. He did reach for them though first thing this morning and handed them to Andrew to put on him.

Liam loves swimming! =) That of course makes me very happy! He was very hesitant at first but he loved the water, the splashing, the kicking, the sounds of water splishing and splashing. His laughter just resonated through the whole pool area, bringing even more smiles to all around.

As Liam and Andrew are dressed and ready at the door, I should close this for now and head out for another blessed day. The squeaky sounds make me giggle and I hope you all are smiling as you read this. Sending our abounding joy your way...mct
