Sorry this is late but we had a dickens of a time trying to get onto Blogger last night. Seems there are little gremlins that keep certain sites from appearing here and there and that gremlin has been hanging around our computer lately! =)

God is so good and it is amazing how Liam seems to have been in our family his whole life. We are still amazed and in awe of all his little antics and doings, but then again, we are with Patrick, Mackenzie and Andrew, too. Liam seems so happy with us and we are thrilled to finally have him in our lives.

We went shopping yesterday for a baptism outfit for Liam. There are many beautiful silk outfits in every color and combination for girls, and many outfits for boys but not all white! We did find a handsome linen outfit and bought that for him but the sweetest thing is we could tell he felt so handsome in it! Poor guy was sweating so much as we were adding more clothes onto him in the store (it was about 95F,humid, no moving air and no a/c) but he touched the outfit, looked at his outfit and threw himself into me with the biggest hug! It was absolutely precious.

Lunch was at a Thai restaurant~a good choice on our part. Liam loved the noodles (given) and was quite happy making sure that we all ate what was on our plates. How quickly they learn!

There is a Pearl Market here in town and we went as a group to check it out. It was 6 floors of jewelery markets, mostly export stuff. It was nothing like the one in Beijing, where many vendors were hawking their wares, begging for your business. In Beijing, everything was sold at the Pearl Market. Here in Guangzhou, it was just pearls and silver. We looked around, didn't buy anything but a coke for Andrew. Outside the Pearl Market is a street called "Up and Down Street" where vendors have clothes, vegetables, goods, etc. We stopped out front to meet our guide and we were encroached upon by the crowd. Throngs of people came out to just stand around us as if we were prey. They were very friendly and took pictures of us with their camera phones and everyone was commenting on some part of us, we could tell from their facial expressions and gestures, but it was strange how the circle crowding around us just grew and grew. It was as if we were an exhibit in the plaza. We were grateful that Connie came shortly thereafter to break up the crowd and take us to our bus.

We had a great play date in the playroom yesterday. In today's pictures, I'm enclosing pictures of Liam playing with some of his playmates. The girl is Abby, the little one we met the first day (she was in Shantou Orphanage with Liam) and the boy is Sawyer, a true sweetheart. Shopping and playroom is the theme for the day...

Today we are going to walk around the island and I think check out "Up and Down Street" again. I was told there is a Catholic church nearby and we would like to go see that. There is a Starbucks here but would you believe I really am too hot to drink coffee here? Oh, the shame of it. I do love a little trip to Starbucks and it just doesn't have the same lift when it is so hot outside. Maybe right before we leave we'll have a little cold front come through? That would be icing on the cake.

Time to go to breakfast and greet the day. I hope we have no trouble logging on later so I can fill you in on more about Liam's province and the kind people here. mct

Mar,
I am so happy for your whole family. Your blog is a wonderful thing.
Thanks for sharing all of these precious moments with everyone.
Any idea when you will bring Liam and the gang back to Tucson?
We need to get our babies together for a play date. I wish you lived closer.
Love to all, Cathy
